In the book (s.p.b.s) the author gives a full two paragraphs to the ‘Humber Lighthouses’, two, then, at South Killingholme (the third one built in the 1860s s.p.b.s) and the single one at Paull (see above). The section of the book on the Humber (s.p.b.) having described Stony Banks goes on to warn mariners of three rocky ‘knolls’ at south of Stony Banks that break the surface of the Estuary at low tide, particularly the low tides following spring tides.
