Another recent walk, this time along the west bank of the River Ouse at Goole and Hook, but not including Goole church which I have written about before. The riverside area of Goole is a pleasant housing area where the majority of residents tend their gardens well, looking down on them from the clay bank.

Another recent walks incorporating a visit to a parish church open to the public most days was around the part of Elloughton that includes the golf course. Starting at the road junction opposite the United Reformed chapel the route goes south beside the road that leads to the centre of Brough, on the east side

A final, for now, view of St. Peters church, Wawne. Here showing the view west from near the chancel arch and showing the grand west window, two of the four south arcade bays, a couple of clerestory windows, octagonal font (late medieval) and the later pitch-pine pews and encaustic floor tiles.

Still a problem uploading photos (s.p.b.). St. Peters church, Wawne is composed of an aisled nave, clerestory, chancel and north-west tower, off centre, the base of the tower being at the west end of the north aisle. As with many churches in the Humberside region the building fabric varies both in time and in nature.
