Cupolas, or at least decorative rooftop projections on older buildings, seem to be quite common in the vicinity around Pearson Park, Hull. Above is a photo of the cupola(?) projecting from the roof of Stepney Primary School, Beverley Road, Hull, the picture taken from the rear window of a property on Pearson Park itself. David

In a real sense anything standing vertical – pylons, skyscrapers, chimneys (industrial and domestic), statues(?), aerials, trees etc. – falls into this category, it’s just that church towers/spires and rooftop projections come most readily to mind. On the Princes Avenue side of Pearson Park, on a man-made grassy mound, stands a cupola (see above).
