With the ‘History of not very nice things’ W.E.A. short course now having finished and with generally positive feedback attention now turns to the second five-week course in November and early December. The ‘History of not very nice things Part 2’ has been cancelled but in its place is being advertised a course entitled ‘A place of Resort’ which sets-out to outline the history of public parks, recreation grounds, allotments and public cemeteries, especially with reference to the Humberside area (my inclusion of cemeteries which, apparently, some find odd is because in their day they were places of resort, in some ways similar to parks). First of the five sessions is on Monday 5th November, 7-30pm, Wilderspin school, Barton. New members can sign-up before the class itself begins.
